This is being held in the Deeping Church grounds to celebrate 40 years since the
building of the church.
The actual date of the first Mass was Christmas Eve 1968.
The Feast of St Guthlac is on the 12th April and perhaps passes by quietly unnoticed by many. The First Mass in the new Church was celebrated on Christmas Vigil 1968. On the 7th May 1969, the 7th Bishop of Nottingham Bishop Edward Ellis blessed the Church and opened it. With the forthcoming Parish Barbecue on 18th May 2008, we will be launching the year-long celebrations, prayers and reflection towards the 40th anniversary of The Deeping Catholic Church to be held in Spring 2009.
The cost is £2.50 for adults and £1 for children. Please order your tickets by Sunday 11 May 2008 to assist us with catering numbers.
