Bourne Groups

Action Group

The Bourne Action Group is a team of parishioners who give up their spare time to organise and run fund raising events and to look after the day to day maintenance and care of the church fabric and grounds.
The money raised at these events is used in three main ways:

To support the maintenance of the church buildings and grounds.
To support charitable and spiritual causes.
To encourage social activities amongst parishioners.

Bourne Little Church (Children’s Liturgy Group)

Members of the Children’s Liturgy Group take it in turn to prepare and lead children’s liturgy sessions during Sunday mass. The children are gathered together in the meeting room at the back of the church immediately after the opening hymn and return to the main body of the church at the Offertory. The children’s liturgy sessions cover parts of the adult mass at children’s level; e.g. the children sing a “Sorry Song” and a Gloria and hear a children’s version of the Gospel of the day. The Gospel story is then explained and discussed and the children do a worksheet and/or some artwork related to the Gospel theme. At the Offertory they bring their work up to the Altar. Children attending children’s liturgy are mainly pre-communion age, although older children frequently join in and are always welcome.

Bourne Eucharistic Ministers

The Eucharistic Ministers have all attended a formation course and been commissioned by the Bishop.

They work under the authority of the Parish Priest to assist with distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and take communion to the sick and housebound, normally during the week. The PP or the Deacon visit in turn once a month
